In order to confirm that our filtration system works, we built a “Closed System” scenario for the testing. A closed system is important to test the effective of the filtration system in its ability to collect microplastics. For this testing, we used two 1000 gallons water pools. Sample microplastics will be placed in the first pool, and then our filtration system will clean those microplastics while dumping the clean water back into the second pool. The test was successful.
The team has prepared different kind microplastic particles of different sizes, and of different plastic types. These different microplastics were passed through the special filtration system in order to test if the system is able to collect these types of plastics.
These are microplastics samples that were able to get collected inside of our filtration strainer. A successful test !
